"The Mimics"

Humans share an intricate connection with their surroundings, yet often we fail to recognize its significance. By closely observing our environment, we can see numerous things that are intertwined with our lives too. Here we come across the concept of resemblance, which involves one species looking alike another, which is known to play a pivotal role in nature. Primarily, this mechanism serves the purpose of an organism's survival. Such adaptations occur gradually over time. Many organisms employ mimicking for various reasons including predation, reproduction, and to avoid any dangerous situation. Such kinds of adaptations are vital for growing in the relentless struggle for existence. An example of ant mimicking spider, these spiders not only look like ants but they also behave like the ants, by raising their forelegs into an antennae like posture. This tactic helps them to blend in the ant community and protects them from their predators. There are plenty of examples where most organisms change their behaviour and physical features as per their needs.

Interestingly, similar kinds of behaviour can be observed in most of the organisms living on this planet, and humans are no exception. Have you ever noticed? We sometimes inculcate specific traits to grab attention or to get recognition from our society. The behavioural pattern could be different for every person; some people want to be in the spotlight and some want to escape from it. One notable example is to admire our adored person or a celebrity, where we transform ourselves to mirror these personalities, and after a time we can clearly observe some similar traits like body language, the accent, and also facial features within us. Similarly, we often come across situations where we have to fit in a specific group, and this leads to abandoning our original identity in favour of adapting traits from a particular circle of ours. This gradual transformation over time can extremely alter our personality, causing us to give away our own identity. By doing so, it helps us to survive in this competitive world.

In a way, we are all the same, and we are not only sharing same physiological and morphological characters but also behavioural patterns with other organisms, and the evidence of it surrounds us. Just like these little organisms, sometimes we also have to change ourselves as per our convenience. This sense of awareness guides us to live with meaning by showing us how we are part of something greater.
